General Optica
General Optica is one of Europe's foremost optical retailers with 140 stores across Spain and Portugal, and an annual turnover of over £64m. The advent of the Euro instigated one of the company's largest IT projects to date. Rather than find a local firm to manage the implementation, General Optica turned to Oxfordshire-based Astech Consultants.
Every retail business in the Euro zone was required to handle dual currencies for a period of 2 months. The existing bespoke management software used by General Optica was not compliant with the new Euro system and as such all systems had to be upgraded. Astech Consultants were selected to help smoothly implement this upgrade.
